Upcoming Dancesport Competitions
Two thousand twelve proves to be quite busy faster than anticipated. I will have the pleasure to be part of three great Dancesport competitions over three consecutive weeks:
- Fall's Premier Ball, Niagara Falls: January 26-29
- Northern Lights Classic, Edmonton: February 4-5
- Platinum Dancesport Classic, Miami: February 9-11
As I am not looking forward to jet lag and other traveling related nuisances, I am very excited to be a part of these events. I cannot wait to see the wonderful things the organizers had put together this year for their audiences, the dancers that will be participating and the terrific Miami weather.

2011 Christmas Showcase Gala

I would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2011 Christmas Showcase Gala!
Over 2 hours of single dances and showcases, followed by dinner and general dancing filled the night with joy and good friends. The party came to an end with a final show by Valentin, Anastasyia, Gary and Irina.
I hope you enjoyed this night as much as I did. See you all at the next Showcase!

WDSF World Ten Dance Championships
November 12, 2011
Canadian Champions have proven that through consistency, confidence and hard work anything is possible on the dance floor. After placing 7th and 5th at the World Ten Dance Championships in 2009 and 2010 respectively, Anton Belyayev and Antoaneta Popova danced their hearts out towards the 3rd place in 2011.
They seem to have had a consistent 2 place advancement with each passing year, so I am curious to see their careers develop in the years to come.
Congratulations to them for raising the Canadian flag up on the World Championship podium!

The 2011 Grand Ball Championships
November 11-13, 2011
After eighteen years, there is no question why couples from across Canada and across the World come to Vancouver for the annual Grand Ball Championships.
I had the pleasure of judging this event and I was amazed by the level of dancing of Pro-Am students and Amateur couples.
Congratulations to all the participants and the organizers, Andy and Wendy Wong, for putting up such a great event.
